Frequently Asked Questions
F.A.Q
Unlike large, corporate assisted living facilities that can feel like hotels or hospitals, The Emerald House is a residential boutique home. We limit our number of residents to ensure a high staff-to-resident ratio. This allows for truly personalized care, where we know your loved one’s favorite stories, their medical needs, and exactly how they take their afternoon tea.
We believe in "No Heavy Lifting." Your monthly rate is all-inclusive of:
• 24/7 personalized care and medication management.
• Three chef-inspired, home-cooked meals plus snacks.
• Daily housekeeping and personal laundry service.
• All utilities, including high-speed internet and cable.
• A full calendar of social, physical, and creative activities.
We love seeing families and friends fill our home with laughter. To ensure our residents enjoy a consistent, peaceful daily routine and to protect the 'Fountain of Youth' rhythm of life, we have dedicated visitation hours. This allows us to balance social connection with the quiet, restorative environment our residents deserve.
Absolutely. We want their suite to feel like their sanctuary. We encourage residents to bring cherished furniture, photos, and decor. However, if you prefer a fresh start, we also offer beautifully furnished suites that are move-in ready.
At The Emerald House, we believe the spirit has no age. Our activities are designed around our residents' interests. This includes gentle "Fountain of Youth" wellness sessions, gardening in our coastal air, art classes, music therapy, and local outings to enjoy the beauty of McIntosh County. We attend bi-weekly bingo games and line dancing events at the community center.
Safety is our number one priority. Our home is equipped with modern safety features, and our staff is trained in emergency response. We are located with easy access to local medical providers and are just a short drive from major hospitals in both Savannah and Jacksonville.
Choosing a home is a big decision. We suggest starting with a private tour. You’ll be able to meet our family, smell the home-cooked meals, and feel the "Emerald Standard" for yourself. We also offer a detailed assessment to ensure we can meet all of your loved one’s specific care needs.
We are a local, family-owned business—not a corporate chain. When you call us, you are speaking directly to the people who oversee the care of your loved one every single day. We are neighbors serving neighbors.
